On April 1st, 2023 Chris Naab and three men from the Delonis Center (the homeless shelter in Ann Arbor, MI) created Sherwood Farms. Over the next 2 months we worked as a team to excavate a small undeveloped piece of property my dad has. We excavated the side of a hill, put in a 300 ft. round-a-bout drive, we added water, and 60 Amp power to the property. On June 1st we moved from my parent's basement to the property, in Chelsea, MI. We had many ups and downs at the property as we were living in two pop up campers and an RV with two dogs and neighbors that reported us to the local ordinance enforcement officer. On Sept. 30 it become too cold to live in the campers so we broke up for a few months while I got our house ready. A house I owned that had tenants needed to exit the property as a result of the garbage they had let build up in the yard. Once I moved in on Dec. 1st my roommates and I cleaned up the property and now reside in a cozy Farmhouse in Saline, MI. We have a duck, a dog (we had 2 but we live on a very busy road), 2 cats, and all the mice they can eat. There are 5 of us total and everyone has a full time job and a license. We have 3 vehicles in our fleet and one of the roommates has his own car on his own insurance. Rent is cheap as long as everyone contributes. Nobody misses work. Nobody goes hungry. Everyone steps up. We do community service projects in the community to find new opportunities for ourselves and our mates as well as to grow the bond of brotherhood that makes us a support network that will last a lifetime. If you have a donation to give please click the link above, or more importantly if you have a job in Southeast Michigan, or even farther away. we would love to put in a bid. We do demolition, trash removal, landscaping, lawn care, flower beds, and odd jobs. We are planning on getting more chickens this spring and more ducks to have fresh eggs for sale as well as a vegetable garden stand in front of the house.
